LocalView

Privacy

Effective July 19, 2026.

Local by design

LocalView processes user-selected developer files on your Mac. It has no accounts, analytics, advertising, tracking, cloud storage, or third-party crash-reporting SDK. The app makes no automatic network requests. Its outbound sandbox permission exists only so the system WebKit process can display self-contained local previews.

Your files

Files stay on-device. You choose which files to open and when to save. External HTTP, HTTPS, and email links open only after you explicitly activate them.

Crash recovery

While you edit, LocalView may keep a throttled recovery draft inside its sandbox. A draft never overwrites the original. After an abnormal termination, LocalView offers Restore or Discard; restored content opens as a separate recovered copy. Drafts are removed after save, close/discard, recovery, explicit discard, or seven days.

Data collection

LocalView does not collect or transmit personal data.
